Why Choose Us

Guarantees

Back yard breeders

Guarantees

Our puppies are always part of our family; because of this we wish to see each puppy succeed in its life. We understand that each puppy has its own unique personality; This is why we heavily vet our puppies' potential families to ensure a good match for both the puppy and the family. To help set the puppies up for success, we always send them home with a clean bill of health from the vet, first round of shots, and a 2-year health guarantee from us. We will also take back any of our puppies for any reason throughout their life so they never have to deal with the traumatizing experience of ending up in a shelter, and shelters will never have the burden of an extra dog.

We offer free delivery within 75 miles and have the ability to deliver farther based on the situation.

Genetics

Guarantees

We have seen first-hand the role bad genetics can play in a dog's life, especially when they are seniors. Dogs can struggle with issues such as hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) and torn CCLs. We are committed to breeding dogs that are healthy and able to perform while maintaining strong stable temperaments that represent the breed. We do preliminary genetic testing as well as testing for certain disease markers such as DM that can be prevented. While there is no way to completely guarantee that a dog we produce will never have hip issues such as hip dysplasia, we can take great measures to help decrease the chances. That is why we ensure all OFAs for hips and elbows meet our high standards before litters are bred.  Our matches are carefully selected to ensure that the litters will be balanced, stable temperament dogs and that the parent's traits will complement each other to produce outstanding puppies.

Back yard breeders

Back yard breeders are a known problem in the United States and around the world. It is important to remember that not every puppy or dog is the same just because it is a specific breed. The belief that "a German shepherd is a German shepherd" no matter where it comes from actually harms the dogs we love, because then they can end up in the wrong families. Most back yard breeders are breeding solely with the goal of money, and fail to think about health, temperaments, or the lasting impacts of the dogs they are producing. Many poorly bred dogs (often backyard bred) end up with lots of health issues especially at the end of their lives, most of which could have been avoided or mitigated with the proper health testing. Some of the top reasons why dogs end up in shelters are assertive behavior, too energetic, and destructive behavior. Some of this can be attributed to poor breeding and a lack of understanding of the dog/breed the new owner is getting.

What is the AKC

The American Kennel Club is the largest registry for purebred dogs in the United States, founded in 1884. The AKC maintains the registry of purebred dogs by tracking pedigrees to help maintain a paper trail for lineage and health purposes. The AKC works with parent breed clubs to help set and maintain the breed standard for each breed recognized by the AKC. The AKC sanctions thousands of events every year allowing dogs to compete for titles and test the dog's abilities in the show ring and in the field. Lastly, the AKC promotes responsible ownership and breeding of dogs by offering education on training, health, puppy buying, and responsible practices.

All of our German Shepherds are AKC registered.

ENS

What is the AKC

ENS

ENS or Early Neurological Stimulation was developed by the U.S. military with the goal of producing more capable working dogs.  ENS exercises include holding the puppies gently in different directions, tactile stimulation, and thermal stimulation. The idea is to introduce very mild, controlled stressors and stimulation that will help "wake up" the puppy's neurological system earlier. This is believed to lead to puppies that are more resilient to stress, have better heart function and adrenal responses, stronger disease resistance, and improved problem-solving abilities later in life.

We do ENS with our puppies from day 3 to day 16 as a standard procedure.

ESI

What is the AKC

ENS

ESI or Early Scent Introduction was developed by Dr. Gayle Watkins as a companion to ENS. This exercise targets the puppies' sense of smell by exposing each one briefly to a new natural scent. The goal is to stimulate the olfactory development and early scent recognition. Some breeders have seen evidence that their puppies that received ESI went on to earn more advanced scenting titles and achieved that at younger ages compared to non-ESI littermates. A well-developed nose also enriches a dog's life and can aid in trainability.

To accompany ENS we do ESI with our puppies from day 3 to day 16 as a standard procedure.

We work closely with other breeders to aid in genetic diversity, better our programs and share common goals to help improve the breed and create an all-around great companion. Our goal is to always breed well-rounded dogs that are healthy, reliable, with a focus on stable temperaments.

All of our puppies are raised here with us on our 2-acre farm. They are exposed to different sights, smells, and people throughout their short 8 week stay with us that will help set them up for success. We try to offer new novel items such as different shaped toys, different textures, new sounds and plenty of love. The goal is to help the puppy build confidence and trust before they head to their new homes with the hope these positive experiences can be maintained by the new families to produce confident adult dogs that are resilient in new situations that they will experience.

Lines

Lines

German Shepherds have been all over the world serving many different roles, over time they have developed mild distinctions in the breed. Since the distinct lines vary greatly in drive, personality, structure, and performance, we find it important to clarify that we primarily breed WGWL with some ASL influence in our lines.
